App of the Week: Boomerang
Do you often feel overwhelmed by your inbox? Have you ever thought you’d sent an email but later found it sitting in your drafts? Boomerang is not a robot but it comes pretty darn close to it! By adding this app on your computer’s web browser or downloading it to your Android, you can schedule your Gmail messages in advance, have messages moved to the top of your inbox, and set email reminders. You’ll never have to worry about forgetting to respond to your boss again.
Ranging from $5 to $50 a month, you can have access to Boomerang on your phone, laptop and/or desktop; you can even invest in it for your entire staff. For now, the app is only available in Google Play market, but Boomerang is available through mobile web interface for other devices.
While it’s not a mobile app, SndLatr is a new (and free!) beta app within Gmail interface. You can seamlessly integrate a “Send Later” button to use for your emails and create preset “snippets” of messages you use often. There are also reminders you can set up, with the option to activate “Only if nobody replies,” so you can bump old conversation threads to the top of your inbox.
If you’re not a Gmail user? No worries! Followupthen is a great tool as well. By including a [time]@followupthen.com address in the email, you can control your email options. Depending on where you include the email address, each option performs different:
To: Send yourself an email at a later date CC: Schedule a reminder for you and the recipient BCC: Receive a follow-up regarding the email without bugging the original recipient
Example formats: email@example.com, firstname.lastname@example.org, email@example.com, firstname.lastname@example.org
Pretty cool right?
