July 4th

Independence Day Parade

Starting at 11 a.m., the parade route kicks offat 6th and Chestnut Streets. More than 5,000 participants will take to the streets of Historic Philadelphia for a patriotic and colorful parade featuring marching bands, floats, military members and more.

Franklin Square Independence Day Family Fun

Noon -3 p.m. Franklin Square, 7th and Race streets. Celebrate America’s birthday at Franklin Square Park in historic Philadelphia with carnival games ($.25 per play) and the Franklin Square attractions, including the carousel and Lightning Bolt Express Train.

Party on the Parkway

Noon -7 p.m. Benjamin Franklin Parkway, 20th Street to Eakins Oval. Head to the Benjamin Franklin Parkway to celebrate America’s Birthday with a massive block party and celebration featuring live music. There will be family-friendly activities, games, food and so much more.

Super Scooper All-You-Can-Eat Ice Cream Festival

This is a great family event. For $7 you can enjoy every flavor of ice cream you can imagine until you get brain freeze and then do it all over again. Head down to the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing for the ice cream festival which runs from July 4th-6th. Proceeds benefit the Joshua Kahan Fund which helps to fight pediatric leukemia and improve the quality of life for pediatric cancer patients and their families.

Spruce Street Harbor Park

This is an awesome addition to the Penn’s Landing Marina. It’s a summer pop up park complete with a boardwalk, urban beach, restaurant, bar, games and more. Spend the day in a net suspended over the water or if that’s too adventurous for you, relaxing in a hammock hanging by the trees. Click here for park hours.

Sugar House Casino Outdoor Summer Concert Series

You can’t have a celebration without good music. Dance the night away at Sugar House Casino’s FREE summer concert series kicking off July 4th with the iconic band WAR. The concert series runs from       July 4th –September 6th, click here for the full schedule.

Philly 4th of July Jam and Fireworks

7:00pm -11:00pm. Benjamin Franklin Parkway, 20th Street to Eakins Oval. Known as the “Largest Free Concert in America,” the Philly July 4th Jam will take over the Parkway as THE ROOTS, ED SHEERAN, NICKI MINAJ, JENNIFER HUDSON, ALOE BLACC, and ARIANA GRANDE, along with VICCI MARTINEZ, take the stage followed by an amazing fireworks display over the Philadelphia Museum of Art.  Definitely a party you won’t want to miss. But don’t worry; you can catch it on TV, if crowds aren’t your thing.
